What do I do if my internet or power goes out?

Your UpLync phone system doesn’t physically “live” at your business location. It’s hosted in a secure data center. So, while your phones won’t work during an internet and/or power outage, people calling your number will still reach your system and hear your voicemail recordings. We can also call-forward your phone number to cell phone(s) so you can still receive incoming calls. The mobile app we provide allows you to make outbound calls.

What do you mean that you’re my phone vendor and phone company?

With a traditional phone system, you have a phone vendor and a phone provider (two separate companies). As an example, a phone vendor would sell you the phone system and maintain it (sometimes at an additional monthly cost); however, they would not provide phone service or lines to it. AT&T or someone like them would do that. So, basically, after you purchased and installed the system, you may or may not be in a service contract with your phone vendor as well as your phone company. UpLync does both, so you only have to work with one company.

How is UpLync different than other VoIP providers?

We don't expect our customers to become phone experts. Other VoIP companies will ship a business a box of phones, give them a portal to log into, and say "here you go...have fun setting up your phones." We take care of the setup and maintenance so all you have to do when you need help with your phones is email support@uplync.com.

What products does UpLync offer?

Voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems, conventional fax, electronic fax, business texting and digital phone lines (SIP trunks).

Do I have to buy the phones or can I lease them?

We offer both options; however, it’s much more cost effective for you to purchase the equipment upfront.

Do I have to use all the same kind of phones?

No, you can mix and match any of the VoIP phones we offer.

Do I need to have two Ethernet jacks?

No.

How fast does my internet need to be?

Ideally, you would have an upload speed of at least 5Mbps. Each call uses 80 kbps. That's roughly .08 Mbps. So, even if you have 3Mbps down and 1Mbps up, that's still fine.

How do I find out my internet speed?

Visit www.speedtest.net and click Go. The site will measure your download and upload speed. You only need to worry about the upload speed for your phones.

Will I be locked into a contract? For how long?

We don't require contracts and have no hidden fees.

Will my monthly bill fluctuate?

Your monthly bill will be the same every month unless you add or remove a phone. We do not randomly adjust pricing/fees each month.

Can I get internet service from UpLync, too?

No, we focus solely on business phone systems and services.

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes, we take care of transferring (porting) all of your phone numbers.

How much do you charge for installation, service, and support?

Installation, service, and support are all FREE.

How much are international calls?

Calls to Canada and Mexico are free. Prices vary depending on the country you want to call.

Will I be without phone service when you install our new system?

No, you will have phone service throughout the installation process.

Does your system offer reports and analytics?

Yes, we use a tool called Asternic CDR Reports. This website lists the features that our reporting tool offers: http://www.asternic.net/cdrreports/about.php
